100 and 100 More Festival

The Artground’s biennial festival showcases the best of children’s productions from around the world, as a culmination of our centre’s artist incubation and partnership efforts over the years. Through the festival, we aim to present audiences with a 100 and 100 More novel ways of seeing the world through a child’s eyes.

In 2018, the first edition of the 100 and 100 More Festival for Young Audiences  ran from 25 May – 3 June. Envisioned to be a key platform to present original new works for young audiences in Singapore and the region, the festival premiered with Into the Blue Forest – a local festival commission, Especially on Birthdays – a co-creation with Australia, and other prolific works from Denmark, Scotland and Indonesia, namely, Hans Christian, You Must Be an Angel, Songs from Above, Puno (Letters to the Sky) and Snigel & Friends.

These immersive theatre experiences were accompanied by a range of non-ticketed visual arts installations, including Rolling @ TAG by Daiya Aida and a cardboard art exhibition by local inclusive arts movement SuperHero Me, craft workshops by In Merry Motion and other fringe activities by Party Mojo.

From the audiences who attended the performances and workshops in the day, to the artists attending the talks and workshops in the evening, we hope the festival inspired each and everyone in a hundred and hundred more ways! To all the artists, friends, family, crew and volunteers, thank you so very much. Until the next Festival in 2020!

The 100 and 100 More Festival for Young Audiences was organised by The Artground and developed in collaboration with the National Arts Council.
