CHILD NATION is a new creative experience for children in places. As if in a conversation with an artist, children are guided by simple prompts on a device to explore, contemplate and have ideas. Their ideas then become part of their own journey, which is solo and often ends up with them finding themselves in a surprising situation.
CHILD NATION is the brainchild of Australian artist Jessica Wilson who is renowned for her participative art works for children.
Now CHILD NATION has arrived in Singapore!
The Artground and Melbourne producers Kath Papas Productions, have brought together local Odissi dance artist Soumee De Girotra with Jessica to create three brand new CHILD NATION journeys made just for Singapore. Soumee is a classic Indian dance artist and her unique art practice is brought to children in their own homes, using the CHILD NATION website.
Make up a dance for your own name and try it out with music; find the super power equivalent of your ’too-muchness’; and make up new manners for the place you are in; these three journeys will give you a whole different way of seeing your ordinary surroundings.
The journeys can be accessed on an internet-connected device.
Recommended Age: 7 – 10 years
